My paintings are about the process and are started without a predetermined conclusion - I paint intuitively. As I apply the brush to the paper and canvas varying both thick and transparent layers of material, erasing and reconstructing, the positive and negative spaces emerge and the underpainting perhaps will be visible. My artworks are speculative formulations that create themselves thru my perception and interpretation. The journey or process are never the same.
I started drawing at a very early age - my first love. Since moving to Moorestown more than 30 years ago I have taken advantage of the may art courses at Perkins Center for the Arts, portrait and figure drawing, sculpting, collage, both watercolor and acrylic painting. Also attended PAFA, Rutgers in Camden, Burlington County and Camden County College for various art instruction. I am a current member of Perkins Center for the Arts as well as the Burlington County Art Alliance and have been included in their juried art exhibitions.
